At the law firm of Murphy, Kirkpatrick & Fain, we are experienced, professional, and effective Billings business law attorneys dedicated to being accessible and responsive to our clients. As a general civil practice firm, we can and do help clients in a wide variety of matters, but the bulk of our practice is in the area of business and commercial law. We have an extensive background in communications law as well, particularly in the areas of cable television and fiber-optic technology. Recently, one of our attorneys won a large jury verdict in Colorado federal court in favor of a national cable television company in federal court on behalf of a cable television provider in Colorado.
Some of our more exciting business law work lately is in the growing area of healthcare law. We work with doctors and hospitals, and in the area of public policy on such matters as HIPAA compliance, joint ventures, and fraud, and waste and abuse concerns.

James Murphy has been serving Montana businesses and Montanans in business and commercial law for 35 years. He was joined in 1990 by Stewart Kirkpatrick. In 1995, the firm in its present form was completed with the addition of Bruce Fain.
